Prepping for Fairs

pigscanflyI LOVE this stamp set!  I don’t know why.  I am not a HUGE pig fan.  But, I just love it!  As I have started to prepare for not only upcoming craft fairs but a Women’s Expo here in a week or so, I just needed this set to be a part of it.  This is a refillable notepad cover (I have the instructions on my blog here:  https://stampwithaltitude.com/2017/02/03/throwback-thursday/).  Anyway, This Little Piggy is a great set.  I will post more of these soon.

I used blender pens to water color in Soft Sky, Powder Pink, Smoky Slate and Blushing Bride.  The notepad cover is Melon Mambo with a Basic Black mat.  I stamped the pig and sentiments in Basic Black Archival.  What do you think of this one?

Here’s another great idea for brides!  Check out this cute project!  bridesmaidbox bridesmaidThis pillow box has a string hanging out of it.  When you pull the string, the message comes out of the box.  This one says, Will you be my matron of honor?  Isn’t that cute!! I agree!

All of my ideas can be customized for the Bride’s personal taste in colors.  I just chose some popular color schemes.

Wedding Fever…

noteinabottleHere’s an adorable way to ask your bridesmaids and maid/matron of honor to be part of the wedding party! Pull off the cork, pull up the “note-in-a-bottle” and unroll the note!!

#TBT – Peppermint Patties

lovebox-filledWith Valentine’s Day, right around the corner… Well, I thought I would bring back a great project!  It’s not my original design so I don’t feel comfortable sharing the dimensions… however, I tried to find this box again and can’t find it anywhere.  Just know, it’s not mine.  Another demonstrator thought this baby up.

Here’s what you will need:

1 – 5″ x 5″ cardstock (Sweet Sugarplum used here)
1 – 3/4″ x 8 1/2″ Strip (if you do the hearts, I cut mine 1 x 8 1/2 – Sweet Sugarplum used here)
10 – Scallop Circle punches (Rich Razzleberry used here)
6 – 1 3/8″ Circle Punches (Sweet Sugarplum used here)
6 – 1 1/4″ Circle Punches (Whisper White used here)

loveboxI did something completely different with this box.  I used the Window Box Thinlets to cut-out the shapes in each of the side panels and the Love Notes Thinlets to cut hearts out for the handle!  Super cute!!

So, now what?  Well, let’s make a box.  Take your 5 x 5 card stock and score on all 4 sides at 1 1/2″.  (see the example below – dotted lines are score lines, solid lines are cut lines.) So, put one of the 5 x 5 sides along the top, score at 1 1/2″, turn 90 degrees, score at 1 1/2″, turn 90 degrees, score at 1 1/2″, turn 90 degrees and score at 1 1/2″

Cut on the 4 score lines as shown.  The run from the edge of the paper to the 1 1/2″ score line.  You will notice that there are two cuts at the top of the paper and two cuts at the bottom of the paper.  The other 4 score lines are not cut.  They are only scored.

Now, fold up the sides.  The flaps should both fold into either side of the box. (where the cut lines are) I stapled the sides and the handle on at the same time.  Using only 1 staple right in the middle to secure the box together. You will cover the staple with a scallop set (mine is the Kiss and the lips).

What do you think?  Pretty simple, right.  Quick and easy! Makes a great gift for a co-worker, employee or anyone, really!  If you have any questions, feel free to post them in the comment section!

Throwback Thursday…

justanoteIf I get 5 comments on this post, I will start a weekly Throwback Thursday project.  What do you say?  Can I get a whoop whoop?? Hehehe… Here’s a project that I created, so I don’t have a problem sharing the dimensions with you.  You may have seen this project elsewhere but there is a difference.  Mine is refillable.  You can take the notepad out and put a new one in!  Yay!

Want to learn how to make it?  Ok.  Here is what you will need:
1 – 8 1/2 x 11 in cardstock in your favorite color (Pacific Point used here)
1 – 3 x 5 in cardstock (basic black used here)
1 – 2 3/4 x 4 3/4 in cardstock in Very Vanilla or Whisper White (used here)
Embellishments of your choice – I prefer to use only ribbon as the idea is for it to go into your purse.
1 – 3 x 5 scratch pad (office supply store)

notepadholderOn your 8 1/2 x 11 card stock, put the 11″ side across the top of your favorite scoring tool.  Score at 5 1/4, 5 1/2, 5 3/4.
Turn your paper 90 degrees so that the 8 1/2″ side is across the top of your scoring tool.  Score at 2 1/2 and 5 3/4.
Get your Stampin’ Trimmer.  With the 11″ side across the top, cut at the 5″ mark to the 1st score line.  Then pick up the blade, cut from the second score line to the opposite edge of the paper.  It will look like a T when you are done. (see image below)

Fold on all the score lines. You will notice that one flap is bigger than the other. There is no real reason for this. However, I use it for the adhesive. I make sure the larger flap is on top. I put it on the under side of the larger flap so that the adhesive only sticks the two flaps together. That gives you a pocket to slide the notepad in.

It’s an easy peasy project but it’s a great one.  I brought it back for craft fair season and sold most of them.
