Tech Tues on Wednesday

I had my week planned out.  I was going to post to my blog once a day.  Well, instead of scheduling my thank you card on Thursday, I posted it on Tuesday!  *giggles*   Oh well, bonus for you!  So, I downloaded some of the new MDS downloads and just had to play with one of them.  I used the “Old School” digital set for this page.  DSP and embellishments.  With all of the mugs that I have acquired over the years, I didn’t have room for a title or anything else!  I still like the way it came out!

Here’s the link for the newest downloads!  Check them out! They are super cool!  August 27th downloads

Thank You

So, while I was playing with the stamp set, Another Thank You.  I got the idea for this card.  While I am not sure that this card was strictly my idea, I really like the way it turned out! Sometimes, that happens to me.  I am working with one stamp in the set and get a great idea (whether it’s mine or not – could have been something I saw somewhere) to make another card.  Does this happen to you?

The technique I used here is called:  Emboss Resist.  I stamped the image in Versamark, dumped clear embossing powder on top and heat set the powder with the Heat Tool.  Then I took a sponge dauber and inked all around the image… (I usually go over the image with a slightly (and I mean SUPER slightly) damp paper towel ) – to top it all off, I spritzed it with the same color re-inker and alcohol for subtle shading.  Super fast, super fun!

Clean And Simple 255

Every week, I stop what I am doing (this week started craft fair crafting) and try something different.  Usually, I go to cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com because that’s my style.  I love clean, simple cards.  I can get fancy… but usually it’s inspired by someone special or a card someone else created.  I live here, in the clean and simple section.  I see the layout and get to work.  I usually know exactly what I am going to do when I see the layout.  So, instead of my normal neutrals color scheme (although l have been using this color scheme a lot lately) – I decided to use the Afternoon Picnic color scheme.  Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder, Coastal Cabana, and Basic Gray (there’s a couple more I just didn’t use them).

Anyway, here’s my card – I wanted to use the new photopolymer stamp set – Another Thank You!  I LOVE IT!! I’m going to use it again soon too!! The really big thank you would make another amazingly clean and simple card!   Oooo… got an idea!  Ok… You will see this later on this week!

Crafting

The past weekend, I have getting ready for craft fair season!  This was the whole reason why I got into Stampin’ Up!  I wasn’t going to blog, I wasn’t going to have clubs, workshops, classes, etc.  I was going to stamp for craft fairs!  LOL!! Ok, so 5 years later, 85 club dates held or more, 30 workshops or more, 30 classes had or more… *laughing* and I am still doing craft fairs!!  Well, I love them!  I really do!  Normally, I wait until October to start stamping projects… not this year!  This year, I started early!  I started in August!! UNHEARD OF!!  LOL

Anyway, here’s a peek – what they are is irrelevant  LOL!  Most people guess anyway!  I am just super proud of myself.  Not only did I use my sewing machine for the second time, but I have made enough little hats to possibly get me through two of the craft fairs.  I say that tongue in cheek because when something this adorable is on my table, it’s gone!  I am planning on making even more hats but will have to keep checking the remnants sections at the craft stores.
