I’m still crafting!

I bet you thought I disappeared huh?  Well, after visiting family for a week, I’ve been prepping for a surprise for my kids.  Here is a project I am working on today. It happens to coincide with Stampin’ Up!’s weekly sale on the Dress Up Framelits and uses a NEW stamp set Christmas Tagables Photopolymer Stamp Set!!

This adorable dress is covering a lip balm box.  The box was not my own creation (and honestly putting the dress on the front wasn’t either).  However, when I thought about doing this for craft fairs, I knew I wanted a Christmas dress to cover the lip balm.  Then I thought about Mrs. Claus!  What would she wear?? Well she would GLIMMER!!!  hehe!

Stampin’ For A Cure

Every year, we have a fantastic charity event.  We call it Stampin’ For A Cure.  This event has been happening for 7 years.  My upline sort of started this for us and we took the ball and ran with it.  This year we raised over $2000 for Susan G. Komen.  Unfortunately, this is way LOWER than past years.  We aren’t really sure if it’s because we changed the times of it or if it’s just been a bad year economically.  We are still proud of our achievement but a little disappointed it wasn’t more.

How the event works is simple.  EVERY single penny we raise goes to Susan G. Komen.  If you paid the $25 entrance fee, it went directly to Susan G.  We, as demonstrators, donate EVERYTHING – from the give-away baskets that two lucky people won – to the card supplies that you take home.  There are 6 projects that customers got to stamp and keep.  There is 1 card that customers could stamp to donate – it’s the thank you card that we send to the silent auction donators and the leftovers go to Susan G. Komen as well, so patients can use them.
