Challenge #9

doveboxvdI am almost done with the challenges. Just one more to go! This challenge was all about gifts. It could be a tag, a box or anything “giftie.” I have an idea book that I keep all my projects in. So, I went to page one. There before me was not really a box. AND it fit the exact number of chocolates I had left…. 4 LOL!! yeah someone’s been in my stash. It could have been me, honestly but…. i don’t remember eating the whole bag! ANYWAY… Here’s my Dove or Bliss chocolate box/sleeve/not-sure-what-to-call-it-as-it-doesn’t-have-4-sides.

You will also find a picture of what the inside looks like.  I kept this simple so you can see some variations that you could do on your own (like adding or subtracting DSP, embellishments, etc).  It’s a super cute and super easy project!

Different Style

loveyouRemember yesterday’s post about the Twist Pop-up card with the hot air balloons?  Well, I did something a little different….. I turned it sideways!  LOL! Check out this great Valentine’s day Card!  The front of the card says…. Love.  The inside of the card says…. YOU!  This card made me gitty!  This is the “design” but different measurements of yesterday’s card.  When I found this card, I didn’t see anyone that turned it sideways (I am sure someone has before I did it, I just didn’t see it).  Anyway, I think this card is safe to post online.  My boyfriend, the recipient, wouldn’t see it on my blog, or my stamping facebook page…. Hey, speaking of which, have you seen it my Stampers With Altitude Facebook page??  Click here! Please like my page!!

What do you think?  I think it’s definitely a technique worth trying!  I am sure there are a ton more possibilities with it too!  Give it a try!

Challenge #7

sendingsmilesI didn’t forget! Here’s Challenge #7. The challenge for this one was to use a stamp set from the Occasions Catalog and to use 1 new embellishment. Of course, had I known that Challenge #8 was about “fun folds” I may have waited to use this one… but… it was great to find the Z-fold card!

This card has a special surprise.  It actually opens and twists to reveal 4 panels.  I am not going to lie. The card took a bit of work.  It wasn’t bad per say but it was time consuming.  BUT… the results are astonishing!  The technique is called Twisted Pop-up.  I have done it two different ways now.  One with the instructions that I got from my upline.  The other I got from Splitcoaststampers.com.  They both work just as well and the measurements are negligible.  If you are wondering where the DSP came from, it’s actually the SAB (Sale-a-bration DSP pack – So…. IT’S FREE with a $50 order!)  Click on the thumbnail to see the inside of the card larger.

Challenge #8

sprinklesDon’t worry, I am not skipping #7!  I wanted to post #8 first because…. well… it’s a birthday card.  And…. today is my birthday!  I can’t believe I have made it this far! LOL!!!  Anyway, challenge #8 was about doing a fancy folded card.  So…. I did a little running around different sites, looking for something I haven’t done before.  I found the Z-fold card.  I can’t believe I have NEVER done it before!  You will probably see this fold again soon.  Not too soon… but soon!  LOL  Click on the thumbnail of the inside of the card to see it enlarged.

It’s not hard at all…. take a regular card, 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 and fold it in half.  Then, fold back (I scored, of course) 1 1/4 inches.  Decorate!  Well…. What do you think of that??  I would love to see what you come up with!!  Post a link to your card design (could be posted on your blog or pinterest or wherever….) in the comment section below!  I will put your name into a hat and draw one winner! The winner will get a hand-stamped card from me and a gift!  OOOOOOooooooo! Rules: Card must have the Z-fold and use a current stamp set!

Challenge #6

positivedifferenceThis challenge was a great one. In short, it was “pick a stamp set out of the annual catalog (I’m an over-achiever, I chose two) and use two embellishments on the card.” Now, oddly enough, I am not sure what’s current and what’s retired in my craft room now BUT I just so happened to buy a few of stamp sets out of the annual catalog for a project I am going to be working on. So, I knew they were current…. LOL.

Here’s my card. I used Gorgeous Grunge and In This World. My two embellishments (ok. I used three… I hear you thinking it…) are Basic Black Baker’s Twine, Silver Metallic thread (which is really hard to see) and Metal Rimmed Pearls. I am a monochromatic girl, as well as a butterfly girl. So this card tickles me to the core! The layout I CASE’d from something I saw on Pinterest but can’t find the card again. UGH! She didn’t use any of the same stamp sets. The card is different but similar. ANYWAY….

I also just recently got my hands on new Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits! OMG!! I am so in love with these. It also works with the Layering Ovals, Circles and Squares Framelit sets. Of course, I used the Layering Ovals set for the card.
