Follow – up….

So…. Yesterday, I described a masking technique that I did.  Here’s the card I really want you to see…. This is the way that the technique was meant to be done.  With Dies that are bolder.  Anyway, I love the way yesterday’s card looks but you can see the difference with today’s.  I left the masking tape on and stamped.  Took the masking tape off and stamped.  LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this came out!

Below you will find a close-up.  You will see what I mean about some of the images being stamped on top while others stamped “underneath”.  Funny story about this card.  This is for my guy’s 48th birthday later this month.  I was making it while he was working on the craft room…. he was right there and didn’t see it!

I used the Urban District, Timeless Textures, Gorgeous Grunge and Number of Years Stamp sets. I also used the Large Numbers Framelits. Masking tape and sponges and inks in Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry and Delightful Dijon for the background, Basic Gray and Basic Black (both Archival) for the stamping!  I also used the Urban Distric Washi Tape on Basic Gray cardstock.  Now, if I could find my embellishments…. that would be great………………………….

Challenge #6

positivedifferenceThis challenge was a great one. In short, it was “pick a stamp set out of the annual catalog (I’m an over-achiever, I chose two) and use two embellishments on the card.” Now, oddly enough, I am not sure what’s current and what’s retired in my craft room now BUT I just so happened to buy a few of stamp sets out of the annual catalog for a project I am going to be working on. So, I knew they were current…. LOL.

Here’s my card. I used Gorgeous Grunge and In This World. My two embellishments (ok. I used three… I hear you thinking it…) are Basic Black Baker’s Twine, Silver Metallic thread (which is really hard to see) and Metal Rimmed Pearls. I am a monochromatic girl, as well as a butterfly girl. So this card tickles me to the core! The layout I CASE’d from something I saw on Pinterest but can’t find the card again. UGH! She didn’t use any of the same stamp sets. The card is different but similar. ANYWAY….

I also just recently got my hands on new Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits! OMG!! I am so in love with these. It also works with the Layering Ovals, Circles and Squares Framelit sets. Of course, I used the Layering Ovals set for the card.

Clean&Simple 257

My name is Christy Schroeger and I am a cleanandsimplestamping.blogspot.com junkie.    I admit it!  Every time I see a layout, I have to do it.  It’s a compulsion!  When I saw layout 257, I knew EXACTLY what I was going to do.  My love of butterflies only made this card EASY for me.  With the stamp set and punch bundled until the end of the month, it was just a no-brainer! *grins*  I saw this layout a week ago.  I have been itching to make this card because I had it all worked out in my head!  But with the other responsibilities of life, I had to put this on hold.

Gifts Galore

Well, my good friend, Lorinda is moving.  This makes me very very sad. However, I couldn’t let this event go past without giving her a gift.  This was a fun one to create.  It’s a Tea Lace Paper Doily with a punch of DSP, some ribbon, a sentiment and a few embellishments.  One of which is a safety pin.  It’s how I got the doily to stick to the bag!  What’s inside the bag?  Lorinda’s favorite:  Stale (yes, stale) Peppermint Patties!  What can I say?  It’s her favorite!

And another… Convention Make ‘n Take

Here’s another fun project that we got at Convention!  This one uses the Tag a Bag Gift Boxes.   Put a lid on it and conceal your gift!!  PERFECT!!  Feathers are VERY trendy this year and they are so simple to do.  Just punch a circle, put the circle back into the punch about a third of the way and punch again – you get a moon shape (watch what I do with it on Monday) and a leaf shape.  Fold the leaf in half and snip really close together at an angle… fluff your cuts and VOILA! You have a feather!  Super cute!
