Bee Kind to a Friend

CCREW717INSPHere is my inspiration card for this month’s challenge.  In the image below, we were asked to use the photo for inspiration.  I found another really neat color combo that I wanted to use and decided to use the bees that are in the photo.  The color combo here is Night of Navy, Marina Mist and Crushed Curry.  I used the Dragonfly Dreams Stamp set and the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits to make this card.  Watercolor paper was used as was an aquapainter to color the watercolor paper in Marina Mist.

summerWhile I got this card layout from my upline, I did change it a bit.  The DSP used here is Naturally Eclectic as I thought the pattern went nicely with the dots stamp in the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  I also really liked the pop of color from the Glitter Enamel Dots.  I used a tiny piece of doily and a thread from the burlap ribbon just for fun accents on the card.  I really hope you like it!!  I am thinking about sending this card to a friend… but who?  Do you want it?? Comment below!  I will pick one person randomly!

Bookmarks

soinlovebookmarkIt’s rare that we use bookmarks anymore with this age of technology.  We read on our phones, tablets, laptops, etc.  It’s sort of like a phone book.  I can’t remember the last time I used one!  BUT…. People do still read books, right?  When I first saw these framelits, I thought of a bookmark, right away.

The color scheme for the bookmark is Blushing Bride (the thick Baker’s Twine – I actually braided three strands), Very Vanilla and Sahara Sand.  The So In Love DSP also has Soft Sky in it.  For the tassel, I used the one out of the Cupcakes and Carousels Embellishment Kit since it was Very Vanilla.  I think it turned out cute!  For some reason, my phone is having a hard time picking up certain colors.  I think it’s prettier in person!

Hope your New Year is off to an amazing start!
